Recently I took a trip to the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts. The primary reason for the journey was that my wife Meg and my son Davis were in a wedding. Meg was a bridesmaid and Davis the ring bearer. The wedding was a marvel for the naturalist with a real feel of Albertus Seba. Exotic plants and fungi displayed under bell jars that were used as center pieces along with chandeliers and live trees felt like the entire forest been invited to the wedding with all the other guests. Aside from it being a long needed vacation for the family, I was able to get in a little spin time on a bike I have REALLY been wanting to try, 29er mountain bike. When not spying honeybees or drinking a lot of beer we spent time playing with kayaks, buying used books, and sipping soy lattes at the local co-op.
Davis kayaking on his own for the first time like a Eskimo.
Mountain biking with Holland honey processor Wouter.
